You want your wedding to be an amazing party.
And what’s the biggest party of the year? New Year’s of course!
What do you get when you combine your wedding with your New Year’s party?
One incredible night!
Nikki (and Cam!) planned out an amazing wedding and had me come in to manage their day. It went perfectly…even with a few hurdles thrown in!
The party was amazing and it was so fun to work with them!
Steal It From Them:
Watch for these details to use in your own wedding!
1. DIY The Right Way
Check out the awesome DIY decor elements in this wedding! Nikki and Cam chose to take a few decor projects themselves, and pulled it off perfectly. They chose elements they could assemble well ahead of time, were well within their existing skills, and, obviously, looked amazing!
2. Hack Your Hall With Lighting
Even when you have a really plain looking hall…or even an ugly one (or one with giant bingo scoreboards on the walls!), you can completely change the look with lighting. Nikki and Cam rented these gorgeous lights from Pizzazz Rentals and the end result was stunning.
3. ‘Dresses’ That Work
No bride wants her bridesmaids dresses to be the running joke and end up in a Katherine Heigl movie. Nikki chose very non-traditional outfits for her maids that were comfy, practical, and super stylish. I imagine they’ll all be wearing these for long time! I kinda wanted to steal one…
Morning
The day started out bitterly cold…and it would stay that way. With temperatures in the minus thirties before windchill, it was a bit nippy! But that didn’t slow down this crew.
Nikki and her ladies spent the morning getting ready at the HOME Inn and Suites. The party started early with a recap of the hilarious sounding bachelorette trip they’d all taken.
The gentlemen spent a more relaxed morning at home preparing for the day. Everything went smoothly…until it didn’t…
Ceremony
A few minutes before the bridal party was supposed to be picked up, the limo driver called to let me know he couldn’t get it started. Not really that surprising given the current temperature I suppose.
Nonetheless, we still needed to get these ladies to the church on time! We managed to find a family vehicle big enough for them to get them on their way. And while Nikki and Cam were saying ‘I do’, I was making alternate arrangements! But that’s a story for another time…
Take a look at that wedding party…quite possibly the most stylish crew I’ve worked with!
Formals
After we’d bundled up the flowers for their next adventure, the whole tribe piled into the (newly arranged) waiting limo SUVs and headed over to the Shack. Up the rickety stairs (I was just a bit paranoid about my pregnant belly!) and into the unheated, but very cool, old building they went.
After braving the cold for a quick photo session, they all headed over to Lucky Charlie’s for some bridal party fun before joining the big party across the street.
Reception
Take a look at this transformed Legion Hall! It came together beautifully thanks to detailed planning, creative DIYs, and classic colour choices by Nikki and Cam.
The donut wall was a major hit, and the array of dessert options made it hard to choose what to devour first! After a scrumptious dinner from The Smoke Shack, the party got started and kept on going well into the new year.
Thanks to Nikki and Cam for including me in your perfect day.
